CAIRO - 12 May 2023: Dr. Amr Talaat, Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, met with Niels Annen, German Minister of State for Economic Cooperation and Development, in Berlin, to promote cooperation between Egypt and Germany in the area of digital transformation.
The German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology met to discuss current digital transformation cooperation projects between Egypt and Germany.
Among these initiatives are the General Administration's objective to support innovation and a collaboration to establish a lab for developing government applications.
They also addressed the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's executive intentions to promote the information technology industry and provide an enabling environment for outsourcing investment.
Yemeni Osman, Deputy Head of Egypt's Mission to the Egyptian Embassy in Berlin, and Khaled El-Attar, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Administrative Development, Digital Transformation, and Automation, were also present.
Dr. Amr Talaat also met with Udo Philipp, the German Minister of State for the Economy, during which they discussed measures for increasing bilateral collaboration in communications and information technology.
They also examined the sector's potentials and recent developments, shedding light on the sector's young, qualified, and specialized cadres, who are capable of working in the communications and information technology industry in both local and global markets.
Egypt has made major advances in digital transformation and information technology.
The country's digital economy has been quickly increasing, and the government has been seeking to foster investment and innovation in this sector. Egypt has also been aggressively seeking international alliances and partnerships to strengthen its capabilities and speed its digital transformation efforts.
