The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed today’s trading session in the green, breaking through a streak of mixed performances with a strong morning push.
Benchmark index EGX 30 climbed by 2.37 percent to 17,642.97 points, while EGX 50 surged by 2.98 percent to end the session at 3,139.38 points.
EGX 70 rose by 2.47 percent at 3,056.29 points, with EGX 100 gaining 2.58 percent to 4,641.30 points.
Today’s trading saw 686.69 million shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 2.12 billion.
Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.142 trillion, adding LE 29 billion, compared to Sunday’s LE 1.113 trillion.
Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net buyers with LE 62.06 million. Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with LE 53.87 million and LE 8.18 million, respectively.
The top gains of the session were by Abou Kir Fertilizers which climbed by 9.38 percent, Alexandria Containers and Goods by 9.32 percent, and ODIN Investments by 7.9 percent.
The largest losses of the session were by Arabian Cement Company which dropped by 3.66 percent, Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation by 3.27 percent, and El Wadi for International and Investment Development by 2.99 percent.
