EGX starts week with mixed performance, market cap reaches LE1.113trn

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended the week’s first session with mixed performance.

Benchmark index EGX 30 declined by 0.35 percent to 17,235.31 points, with EGX 50 dropping by 0.21 percent to 3,048.44 points.

EGX 70 rose by 0.14 percent to 2,982.49 points, while EGX 100 climbed by 0.6 percent to end the session at 4,524.68 points.

Today’s trading saw 403.85 million shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 1.24 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 1.113 trillion, compared to Wednesday’s LE 1.116 trillion. The EGX was closed on Thursday, May 4th for Labor Day.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian and Arab investors as net sellers with LE 4.02 million and LE 13.39 million, respectively. Foreign investors were net buyers with LE 17.41 million.

The top gains of the session were by The Arab Dairy Products Co. Arab Dairy – Panda which climbed by 12.8 percent, Medical Packaging Company by 8.52 percent, and El Shams Housing & Urbanization by 6.10 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool which fell by 15.35 percent, El Obour Real Estate Investment by 4.01 percent, and Extracted Oils by 3.88 percent.
