CAIRO - 18 July 2017: The Ministry of Petroleum signed Monday an agreement with three British educational academies to enhance human resources of Egypt's petroleum sector by granting them international certificates.
The three academies are the International Academy for Advanced Research and Studies, Oil and Gas Skills 'OGS' and Pearson for Higher and Professional Education 'BHPE.'
The agreement was signed in the presence of Petroleum and Mineral Wealth Tarek El-Molla and British Ambassador in Cairo John Casson on Monday.
“The agreement is in line with the government strategic thrust to enhance human resources, in addition to improving vocational and technical training levels through offering British training programs that are acknowledged internationally,” Molla said during a meeting held at the British Embassy in Cairo.
On the other hand, the British ambassador stressed that Egypt plays a vital role in building the future of the Egyptian economy, especially in the petroleum and gas sector that is considered as a main engine of all development in every economic sector.
“UK is boosting the Egyptian project to make Egypt a regional central hub for energy, in addition to the development and modernization project of the sector through British petroleum firms working in Egypt; 2018 is a beginning of strong push of Egyptian petroleum and gas sector,” Casson added.
The Middle East regional manager of BHBE pointed out that his association seeks to improve Egyptian education in all sectors over the coming five years, especially in the petroleum and gas sector, explaining that the existing program offers one thousand education scholarships to increase capacities and boost efficiency in 25 Egyptian petroleum and gas firms.
