CAIRO - 11 April 2023: Minister of Military Production Mohamed Mostafa met Tuesday with a delegation of the Saudi Middle East Tasks Company (METCO), and Smiths Detection company to discuss cooperation in the field of detection devices.
Mostafa said the difficult economic conditions worldwide require that every country relies on local resources to reduce import, adding that his ministry cooperated with the private sector and international entities to find alternative materials and innovative substitutes.
METCO and Smiths have been cooperating for many years in X-ray detection devices.
The delegation praised the capabilities and expertise available in the ministry’s companies and the prominent role it plays in supporting Egypt’s path towards sustainable development.
They also admired Egypt's strategic location as a gateway for their products to Arab and African countries, adding that they look forward to cooperation in producing advanced security inspection systems.
