CAIRO – 28 March 2023: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday's session on a mixed note, adding around LE 2.48 billion to the market capitalization, amid foreign selling.
The benchmark EGX30 decreased 0.27 percent, or 43.67 points, to end at 15,906.42 points.
The equally weighted index EGX 50 increased 0.75 percent, or 20.44 points, to end at 2,752.18 points, and the broader index EGX 100 rose 0.31 percent, or 12.97 points, at 4,197.26 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 dropped 0.20 percent, or 5.61 points, to close at 2,804.14 points.
Market capitalization gained around LE 2.48 billion, recording LE 1.027 trillion, compared to LE 1.024 trillion in Monday’s session.
The trading volume reached 360.86 million shares, traded through 56,948 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.61 billion.
Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 138.24 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 138.24 million, and LE 63.32 million, respectively.
Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals - SIDPEC, Ezz Steel, and ELSWEDY ELECTRIC were top gainers of the session at 7.46 percent, 7.35 percent and 6.50 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, Macro Group Pharmaceuticals -Macro Capital, Development & Engineering Consultants, and Speed Medical were top losers of the session by 5.60 percent, 4.55 percent, and 4.23 percent, respectively.
