CAIRO - 16 March 2023: Direct foreign investments in the project to develop the ports of Sokhna and Dekheila are estimated at $1.6 billion, while direct revenues are expected at $5 billion, according to Minister of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir.
In a Wednesday press conference, Wazir said Sokhna port on the Red Sea and Dekheila Port on the Mediterranean will transform Egypt into a center for global trade and logistics.
He had earlier signed several contracts with international shipping companies to establish the superstructure, management, operation, maintenance, and re-delivery of a container terminal at Berth 10 of Dekheila port.
Dekheila Port is a part of Alexandria Grand Port development plan.
