LE4.4B in public investments to implement 324 development projects in Minya Governorate

CAIRO - 2 March 2023: Public investments directed to Minya Governorate in the 2022-2023 plan amounts to LE 4.4 billion, with an annual increase of 29 percent, to implement 324 development projects, according to the Planning Minister, Hala El-Said.

 

This came in a report issued by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development on the features of the Citizen's Investment Plan for Minya Governorate for the year 2022-2023.

 

With regard to the sectoral distribution of targeted public investments in Minya Governorate in the 2022-2023 plan, El-Said indicated that investments amounting to LE 961.3 million were directed to the health sector, at a rate of 22 percent, and LE 914.6 million, or 21 percent, to the higher education and scientific research sector.

 

The investments of the local development sector amounted to LE 876.5 million, or 20 percent, the housing sector amounted to LE 711.8 million, or 16 percent, and the pre-university education sector amounted to LE 308.9 million, or 7 percent. As for other sectors, investments amounted to LE 581.6 million, or 14 percent.

 

The ministry's report indicated that the number of targeted centers in the first phase of the Hayah Karima (Decent Life) initiative in Minya governorate is five, and the number of targeted villages is 192, and the beneficiary population is 2.5 million.

 

It pointed to the many development projects implemented through the initiative that achieve the goals of sustainable development, including the construction of eight residential buildings for vulnerable families, 30 social units, 32 agricultural services complexes, 33 ambulance points, 162 health units, and two central hospitals.

 

In addition to the construction of 1,484 classrooms, 116 schools, 9 family development centers, 35 drinking water stations, 192 sanitation projects, 17 treatment plants, as well as the construction of 199 mobile network towers connecting the optical fiber network, the construction of 54 youth centers, 32 government service complexes, 79 post offices, 36 police stations, in addition to the establishment of 192 electricity projects.

 

The report referred to the most important development goals in the field of housing in Minya Governorate in the 2022-2023 plan, which is to direct about LE 334.9 million for drinking water and sanitation services, and the number of development projects in this sector reaches 51 projects. In the field of local development, it is targeted to implement 170 development projects, In addition to the implementation of 26 projects in the field of health.
