CAIRO - 21 February 2023: Suez Canal revenues continue to hit new record rates, as the data of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that the total revenues of the Suez Canal amounted to about 18.2 billion pounds last December.

The revenues, according to CAPMAS, exceed the level recorded in the previous month of November, which was 17.3 billion pounds.

The revenues of the Suez Canal in the past year 2022 were estimated at 7 billion and 932 million dollars, compared to 6 billion dollars in the previous year 2021, according to Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, head of the Suez Canal Authority, and next year he expected to achieve a return of more than 8 billion dollars.

Osama Rabie considered that what the canal is currently witnessing is an unprecedented boom, despite the existing global crisis.

Rabie referred to the flexible policy and marketing studies, through which discounts were offered from 45% to 75% for ships on the US east coast in particular.
