CAIRO – 17 July 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a mixed performance. Market capital gained LE 3.2 billion ($ 178 million), totaling LE 716.6 billion ($ 39.94 billion) compared to LE 713.4 billion on Sunday.
The benchmark index EGX 30 rose 1.02 percent to close at 13,956 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 went down 0.75 percent to rest at 679 points. The broader index EGX100 also shed 0.09 percent to stand at 1,569 points.
Local investors were net sellers with a total of LE 61 million, while foreign and Arab traders purchased by LE 46 million and LE 17 million, respectively.
Total turnover grew to LE 903 million, up from the LE 617 million achieved Sunday, while trade volume reached 334 million shares, up from 260 million shares yesterday.
Misr Conditioning (Miraco) topped gainers and hiked 9.9 percent, while Egyptian International Tourism Projects led the worst performers and plunged 9.7 percent.
