CAIRO - 15 February 2023: Egypt’s unemployment rate dipped 0.2 percent during the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2022, to record 7.2 percent of the total labor force, compared to 7.4 percent in the third quarter (Q3) of the same year, according to the state-statistic body.

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced in a statement Wednesday that the estimated size of the labor force recorded 30.344 million individuals, compared to 30.264 million individuals during the previous quarter, with an increase of 0.3 percent.

The CAPMAS attributed the increase in the labor force to the increase in the number of workers by 145,000 workers during the current quarter compared to the previous quarter, and the decrease of the unemployed by 65,000 unemployed persons, which led to an increase in the labor force by 80,000 individuals.
