CAIRO - 19 January 2023: Global Auto Group, the official importer of BMW, BMW i & MINI automobiles in Egypt, announced the start of assembling luxury models of the BMW brand locally.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Global Auto, Fahd Al-Ghanim, said during a conference announcing the return of BMW production locally, that $ 150 million investments have been pumped into the local market, indicating that the factory acquires the lion's share of these investments.
For his part, CEO of Global Auto, Mohamed Kandil, revealed the start of assembling BMW X models in Egypt, which belongs to the SUVs category, starting with the X5 40 model.
“The locally assembled X3 and X4 will be delivered to customers who booked during the first quarter, and the X7 before the first half of this year,” Kandil added.
He pointed out that Global Auto decided to start the assembly an production of BMW V through the BMW X5 40 model, which belongs to the category of medium-sized multi-purpose sports vehicles.
Mandolin pointed out that the BMW factory has been able, since its inception, to assemble and produce nearly 45,000 cars, and it is the only factory owned by a local agent, indicating that its production capacity reaches 10,000 vehicles annually.
