In the presence of Christel Heydemann, CEO of Orange Group, Jérôme Hénique, CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa, Yasser Shaker, CEO of Orange Egypt, and other Orange officials, Orange Venture Demo Day was held at Orange Digital Center where 12 Orange Venture Startups from across MEA and the UK attended to discuss growth opportunities in the market and how they can expand their business in Egypt.
“It is a pleasure, as always, to visit Orange Digital Centers. This location has already been inaugurated earlier and it is our 13th Digital Center. We are looking forward to continuing the development of our activities in Egypt, fostering our presence, and implementing our expansion strategy in the Egyptian market.” said Christel Heydemann during her visit.
A panel discussion titled “Challenges and Opportunities for Startup Expanding in Egypt was held and moderated by Aly El Shalakany, Chairman of the Cairo Angels, where 4 more startup founders joined the discussion to share their stories and speak about their entrepreneurship journey.
After the panel discussion, the startup founders had the chance to network and have one-to-one discussions with investors, CEOs of multinational companies in different sectors, and other business owners. Additionally, they also had the opportunity of showcasing the scope of their work and had several discussions with Orange management including Heydemann.
Christel Heydemann has praised the efforts demonstrated by Egyptian entrepreneurs and the role they play in bringing innovative change in different areas and industries. In addition, she has also emphasized the role of Orange Digital Center in discovering young talents in the field of technology and qualifying them for the labor market.
Orange Digital Center is home to four strategic programs under one roof including the coding school, the FabLab, Solidaire, Orange Fab, and Orange Digital Ventures Africa. This network of free resources aims to support local startups and projects using digital technology.
