Egypt's Economic Conference
CAIRO - 25 October 2022: The third and final day of the Egyptian Economic Conference kicked off with a session entitled,"A roadmap for developing the industrial sector: challenges and mechanisms to stimulate the sector."
The session addresses a number of axes, namely the challenges facing the industrial sector in Egypt, and the financing gap as one of the challenges facing the industrial sector. It also discusses another topic on practical mechanisms and ways to address the crisis of the financing gap and solve the problems of importers, and mechanisms to stimulate the industrial sector.
The main objectives of that session are to introduce the packages of facilitation and measures taken by the state to support Egyptian investors, manufacturers and exporters in all sectors, and to work with business communities to maximize their benefits and to submit proposals for their development.
It also aims to shed light on the state's efforts to create an attractive and guarantor of business environment for foreign and local investments, support and encourage research and development and innovative industrial designs, in addition to developing and raising the capabilities of the human element (technical labor, engineers, administrative skills), infrastructure development, smart cities and the logistics sector.
Moreover, the session aims to identify the causes of the financing gap and its sources of financing, mechanisms for solving importers' problems, discuss practical ways to enhance foreign exchange earnings, and reach a roadmap for the development of the industrial sector.
The talking points in this session in particular include several important topics represented in the challenges of developing national industries, the most important causes of the financing gap in Egypt, as well as the most important sources of financing the financing gap in Egypt, as well as the impact of the economic crises that the world is witnessing on the financing gap in Egypt.
They also included the mechanisms for enhancing foreign exchange earnings to bridge the financing gap, in addition to mechanisms and ways to strengthen the industrial sector.
The Egyptian Economic Conference 2022 kicked off on Sunday at Al-Massa Hotel in the New Administrative Capital to discuss the situation and future of Egypt’s economy amid consecutive economic crises across the world.
The Economic Conference, which runs from 23 to 25 October, is organized by the government with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the participation of a large number of economic experts and intellectuals.
The conference agenda is packed with many sessions and events over its three days, according to three main tracks. The first track includes macroeconomic policies, while the second track focuses on empowering the private sector and creating a business environment.
