CAIRO - 4 September 2022: The British University in Egypt (BUE) and Hayah Karima Foundation signed a joint cooperation protocol.
The cooperation aims to cooperate on the presidential initiative, Hayah Karima.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Farida Khamis, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the British University, Mohamed Lotfy, President of the University, and Aya Omar Al-Qamari, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hayah Karima Foundation.
“Signing this protocol would enable the university to implement more activities that support climate change, coinciding with the holding of COP27 in Egypt and Africa for the first time,” President of the BUE, Mohamed Lotfy said.
Lotfy added that it also comes in line with the university's belief in implementing the sustainable development goals.
The university has entered into partnerships with many local and international organizations and institutions to go in line with efforts to combat climate change and raise awareness about its challenges, he elaborated.
Lotfy noted that the British University has launched unique student activities to help students become more aware of environmental challenges and more willing to provide suggestions, solutions and participate in societal issues.
Hayah Karima is an initiative launched by President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi on January 2, 2019 to improve the standard of life for the most needy societal groups at the state level.
It also contributes to raising the level of daily services provided to the neediest citizens, and providing job opportunities for small and medium enterprises, especially in villages and areas most in need.
