CAIRO - 4 August 2022: The cabinet media center said the value of international trade rose during the first quarter of 2022 to hit $7.7 trillion, marking a $1 trillion uptick in comparison with the same period last year.
This came in an infograph published by the cabinet media center on expectations of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) with regard to the international trade growth rate in the second quarter of 2022.
The UNCTAD said trade in commodities rose by 25 percent recording $6.1 trillion, while trade in service hit $1.6 trillion at a 22 percent in the first quarter of 2022 in comparison with the same period in 2021.
UNCTAD said trade growth rates in the first quarter of 2022 remained strong in various geographical areas, except in the eastern Asia and Pacific area.
