CAIRO - 19 July 2022: Egypt’s exports of cast iron and steel increased 12 percent during the first five months of 2022, registering about $667 million compared to $597 million in the same period a year earlier.
A report released Tuesday by the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractory & Metallurgy Industries (ECBM) said Spain topped the list of countries importing Egyptian iron and steel with imports recording $142.138 million, followed by Italy ($120.28 million) and Saudi Arabia ($85.093 million).
It added that the United States came fourth in the list of countries importing Egyptian iron and steel at a total value of $44.287 million, while Canada came fifth with imports worth $40.832 million.
