CAIRO - 7 June 2022: Egypt’s exports to the United States of America rose 56.3 percent in 2021, to $2.5 billion, representing 5.8 percent of Egypt’s exports to the world, compared to $1.6 billion in 2020.
The Economic Relations Bulletin between Egypt and the United States of America for 2021 showed that exports of ready-made garments ranked first with 47.6 percent of total exports to the United States of America, reaching $1.2 billion in 2021, compared to $0.8 billion in 2020, marking an increase of 50 percent.
The bulletin issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics today, Tuesday, stated that Egypt’s imports from the United States of America hiked 27.1 percent, to $6.1 billion in 2021, representing 7.4 percent of Egypt's imports from the world, compared to $4.8 billion in 2020.
Imports of grains, oil fruits and medicinal plants came first with a rate of 26.8 percent of the total imports from the United States of America, reaching $1.6 billion in 2021, compared to $1.5 million in 2020, with an increase of 6.7 percent.
