The premier made the remarks at a meeting with African Union Commissioner for Trade and Industry Albert Muchanga, Deputy Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Africa Hanan Morsi and a number of investors taking part in the 6th edition of the “Egypt Can with Industry” conference, which kicked off Tuesday under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

During the meeting, the premier pressed for strengthening economic cooperation among African countries and reinforcing relations among business communities.

Madbouli also voiced Egypt's support for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which he said serves as a launchpad for continental integration.

The premier tackled efforts exerted by the State in the past seven years to establish global infrastructure to serve the African continent as a whole and facilitate the movement of trade among African nations.

Muchanga, for his part, expressed admiration of the comprehensive development process currently witnessed by Egypt.

He stressed the importance of enhancing the role played by the private sector to achieve desired development goals in Africa, calling on Egyptian businessmen to play a greater role in the Africa Business Council.
