CAIRO – 12 July 2017: The benchmark index EGX 30 of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) went up 0.04 percent to stand at 13,690 points at the end of Wednesday’s session.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 lost 0.28 percent to end at 688 points. The broader index EGX100 also shed 0.03 percent to the level of 1,574 points.
Market capital stood stable at last session’s level, totaling LE 711 billion ($40 billion).
The foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with a total of LE 9 million and LE 40 million, respectively, while local traders sold by LE 49 million.
Total turnover dropped to LE 971 million from LE 1.3 billion achieved on Tuesday. Trade volume also fell to 463 million shares after 509 million shares Tuesday.
South Cairo & Giza Mills & Bakeries topped gainers and hiked 8.4 percent, while Osool ESB Securities Brokerage led losers and slumped 9.9 percent.
