CAIRO - 7 March 2022: Assistant Sub-Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) for Payment Systems and Services Ehab Nasr said that the bank is now focusing efforts on launching "Know your customer" program, which enables people to open bank accounts online.
The newly-introduced service will help customers have bank accounts with no need to go to banks' branches, Nasr told MENA Monday.
The project will as well enable citizens to get all online banking services, he pointed out.
The project will be complete before the end of this year, according to him.
Meanwhile, the bank has completed an instant payment project, to be launched after two weeks to implement online transactions all the week long and during official holidays and vacations, Nasr said.
By April, all banks will finalize technical system linkage measures, he noted.
