She made the remarks during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday to review non-petroleum exports indices in 2021 and the aspired rates in 2022.

She noted that Egyptian exports hit $32 billion by the end of 2021, marking a 26.3 percent rise for the first time in history.

Twelve main sectors came at the top of exports, including chemical products, fertilizers, construction materials, food commodities, ready-made clothes, furniture and hand-made products.

For his part, Petroleum Minister Tarek el-Molla said petroleum exports exceeded $10 billion in 2021.
