CAIRO – 26 January 2022: Egypt was one of the countries that suffered from a major crisis in the provision of the electrical energy due to a deficiency in the national grid, reaching 6,000 megawatts in 2014.
Now, Egypt has the second largest electrical network in the Arab World, ranking the second after the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Egypt has the largest three power plants with the latest technologies in the world in Beni Suef, New Administrative City and Burullus.
In the below lines, et highlights information about the three stations:
1- The three stations were established in cooperation with Siemens in Beni Suef, the New Administrative Capital and Burullus, with a capacity of 14 thousand 400 megawatts, within the governmental agreement between Egypt and Germany.
2- Siemens announced that the contract to implement 3 stations with a capacity of 14 thousand 400 megawatts in Egypt represents the largest contract in the company's history.
3- The three stations operate with a generation efficiency of 65 percent.
4- The three stations were constructed of high class model, which is used for the first time in the world, supported with the latest technology and the highest efficiency.
5- The stations operate with combined cycle technology and depend on natural gas in their operation, with a capacity of 4,800 megawatts for each station.
6- The cost of the station reaches 2 billion euros, with a total of 6 billion euros for the three stations.
7- Each station consists of 4 generating units.
8- Each unit consists of 2 gas turbines with a capacity of 400 megawatts each, 1 steam turbine with a capacity of 400 megawatts, and 2 boilers to recover lost energy. They will be connected to the national grid at a voltage of 500 kilovolts, in next December, with a capacity of 2,400 megawatts.
9- The three stations will contribute to meeting 20 percent of the total electricity consumption at the level of the Republic
