CAIRO - 20 January 2022: Egypt's holdings of US Treasury bonds increased during November 2021, to $2.249 billion, compared to $2.244 billion in the same month of 2020, according to US Treasury data.
On a monthly basis, Egypt's holdings of US Treasury bonds stabilized during November 2021 at $2.249 billion, unchanged from the previous October.
Japan topped the list of the world's largest holders of US bonds, with a value of $1340.6 billion ($1.340 trillion).
China came in second place with investments amounting to $100.8 billion ($1.080 trillion), then the United Kingdom with $621.6 billion.
In the Arab world, Saudi Arabia ranked first; followed by the United Arab Emirates, with investments amounting to $48 billion, to be ranked 27th globally, and then Kuwait, with investments of $45 billion, to be ranked 29th globally.
The total value of US bonds rose by about 9.9 percent at the end of November 2021 on an annual basis, and increased by about 1.2 percent on a monthly basis.
The value of US Treasury bonds reached $7748.1 billion ($7.748 trillion), compared to $7051.2 billion ($7.051 trillion) at the end of November of 2020, compared to $7,659.3 billion ($7.659 trillion) at the end of October.
