This came as part of her address to the opening session of the Egyptian-Ukrainian business forum on Thursday which was delivered on her behalf by Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry for Economic Affairs Ibrahim el Seginy.

The forum was attended by Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko and Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Rania el Mashat, along with a number of officials and businesspeople from both sides.

The forum is a real opportunity to explore broader horizons for promoting trade and investment cooperation, as well as for laying the foundations for serious partnership and constructive cooperation between Egypt and Ukraine, Gamea said.

She added that trade relations between both countries have witnessed significant development over the past few years, noting that trade exchange between Egypt and Ukraine amounted to over $1.6 billion in 2020.

Egypt has managed to increase its exports to Ukraine by 47 percent despite the coronavirus pandemic's repercussions on global economy, she noted.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian deputy prime minister asserted her country’s keenness to foster cooperation with Egypt in the coming stage, and get the maximum benefit from available opportunities in the two countries.
