CAIRO – 14 November 2021: The Engineering Automotive Manufacturing Co. (EAMCO), one of the companies of the Ministry Public Business Sector signed a cooperation agreement with the Egyptian Brightskies Company to develop control technology for managing the operation of electric vehicles.
This agreement comes within the framework of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to switch to using clean energy vehicles, especially electricity, and to localize this important industry in Egypt.
Minister of Public Business Sector, Hisham Tawfik who witnessed the signing ceremony stressed that the cooperation with Brightskies reflects the state's keenness to maximize partnerships with the private sector, especially with regard to modern technology in light of the global trend and the development witnessed in the field of electric cars, with the aim of keeping pace with progress in this industry and increasing the proportion of the local component and localizing technology in Egypt, according to a statement today.
He explained that the agreement aims to cooperate in the production of power units, units and electrical control systems and the installation of a basic engine for the vehicle to complete the operation, in preparation for obtaining all credits to complete the localization of the electric vehicle industry in Egypt as repetitive patterns with multiple capabilities to serve all market needs of different models, starting from private cars to mass transit buses.
He added that the prototype is scheduled to be developed within a year to manufacture a microbus (15 passengers) to work in the local market, containing a local component of more than 80 percent, as all the basic components are designed and manufactured through cooperation between the engineering company and the Egyptian Brightskies Company.
