CAIRO – 5 September 2021: The garment industry in Egypt generates around LE 300 billion annually, head of the Chamber of Readymade Garments Industry in the Federation of Industries, Mohamed Abdel Salam, said.
On the sidelines of the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Chamber of Garment Industry and the ready-made e-marketing company, Mohamed Abdel Salam confirmed that the ready-made garment industry is in constant development, especially after the decline in imports as a result of the decision no. 43 regarding the registration of factories supplied to the Egyptian market in the Export and Import Control Authority.
He added that this reflected positively on the national factories, which began to develop their products and produce high quality men's and women's clothing and new models that did not exist.
He pointed out that the Chamber seeks to expand by launching such electronic platforms, which contribute to imposing complete control over all factories exhibiting their products, which contributes to raising the quality of products and offering them at competitive prices, pointing out that all of this benefits the consumer.
