Several messages sent by Sisi’s visit to UAE, Emirati intelligentsia

CAIRO – 7 February 2018: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi’s sixth visit to the United Arab Emirates comes amid a significant boost in strategic relations between both states to face the growing challenges in the region.

The Emirati economist Jasem Abdullah told Egypt Today that the Egyptian-Emirati relations should be used to enhance trade and economic cooperation between both States, given the fact that the latest Sisi’s reforms had a positive impact on the Egyptian economy.

Abdullah suggested that a monthly meeting should be held between Emirati officials and businessmen and their Egyptian counterparts to expand the opportunities of investment, taking advantage of the current recovery in the Egyptian economy.

The ongoing stability enshrouding the Egyptian economy exists thanks to the government’s unprecedented efforts under Sisi’s Presidency, and the Egyptians’ perseverance to pass the national predicament following January 25 revolution, said Abdullah.

The Emirati economist said he expects an influx of businessmen seeking to invest in Egypt soon, adding that more joint ports and trade zones should exist in order to tie Egyptian economy to its replica in UAE.

Egyptian President’s visit to the UAE is a gesture of enormous significance, comes to assert the longstanding relations between Egypt and the United Arab of Emirates, said the Emirati Political Science Professor Ali El Kasem to Egypt Today.

El Kasem added that the visit increases the Arabs’ coordination in the face of the growing Iranian threat, noting that Iran is excessively intervening in the Arab States’ internal affairs, in a way that harms the them States stability.

Sisi’s visit sends a strong message to Iran, on the top of it Arab’s strong stand against Iranian ambitions in the region, added El Kasem.

The Egyptian- Emirati meetings dealt with several ongoing incidents such as, American President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem city as an Israeli capital and terrorism endemic to the Middle East, said El Kasem to Egypttoday.

El Kasem called for an urgent solution for crises in Yemen, Libya and Syria, describing Egyptian role in the region as “vital” to regain stability and peace.
