CAIRO- 10 August 2020: About five villages are included in the first stage of the President Abdel Fatah El Sisi 's "Decent Life" initiative in Marsa Matrouh with investments up to LE 86.2million that expected to benefit 7,000 citizens.
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli followed up, Monday with Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy the developments in number of projects of the first stage according to official statement.
Madbouli asserted the keenness of the bodies of the state to work on improving the level of services presented to the citizens at the different governorates especially in the most needy villages.
Shaarawy explained that here are nine projects implemented in the sector of paving roads, seven projects to establish and develop youth centers, five projects in the sanitation sector, 24 projects for drinking water services, four projects to improve infrastructure efficiency, four projects to increase efficiency of pubic lighting, three projects in the education sector and three projects in the sector of health services.
On July 13, Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad said, that Prime Minister Madbouly followed up with work pace at a number of initiative’s projects in Aswan which will nearly benefit about 38,626 people.
A total investment cost of LE83 million have been carried out in Aswan governorate as part of the first phase of the initiative.
Last August, Egypt’s Minister of Planning, has said the state allocated 103 billion for Hayah Karima (Decent Life) presidential initiative to improve citizens' living conditions. Then another LE 6.3 billion were announced to be allocated for the initiative as well in September.
The initiative aims at eradicate poverty, raise life standards and develop services and villages across the country. Egypt will aid 377 villages in 11 different governorates in the first phase of the initiative, specifically those in Upper Egypt.
In January 2019, Egypt’s Sisi launched ‘Decent Life’ initiative saying ‘At the beginning of a new year, I looked back to search for our nation’s true hero and I found that it is ‘the Egyptian citizen’
“……, Therefore, I am calling all of the state institutions and civil society organizations to unite efforts and launch a national initiative at the state level to provide a decent life to the most groups in need in our country during 2019” Sisi stated.
