Finished 'Decent Housing' units in Upper Egypt's Sohag
CAIRO - 14 November 2024: Haya Karima developmental initiative is one of the most prominent programs launched by the political leadership in Egypt to improve the lives of families in need of care.
This initiative seeks to provide decent housing and suitable living conditions for citizens living in harsh conditions, especially in rural and deprived areas in Sohag Governorate.
This initiative embodies hope for hundreds of families, as it includes the implementation of 108 residential buildings with a total of 864 units, with implementation rates reaching 100 percent.
These units are distributed across several centers and villages within the governorate. All these numbers reflect the government's commitment to providing adequate housing for families suffering from a lack of basic services.
The "Decent Housing" program, which is part of "Haya Karima" initiative, also reflects the interest in the social and economic dimension of the population.
The positive impact of the "Decent Housing" initiative is evident on the lives of beneficiary families, as it contributes to improving their health and social indicators.
Research indicates that housing conditions directly affect the psychological and physical health of families. With the provision of decent housing, families have the opportunity to improve their standard of living and enjoy better health services, which is positively reflected on children and families as a whole.
For its part, the governorate is raising awareness among families on how to make the most of the new facilities available, as education and awareness are essential factors to ensure the success of the initiative and achieve its goals.
The government seeks to overcome these challenges by exploring new ways to increase project funding, in addition to strengthening partnerships with non-governmental organizations and civil society. Clear strategies are also being developed to ensure the sustainability of projects after their completion, which helps enhance the added value of the initiative.
The "Decent Housing" program in Sohag is not just a housing project, but rather a model for sustainable and comprehensive development that requires the cooperation of all parties. The program is considered a locomotive for change, as it contributes to improving the quality of life and reducing the social gap between different segments of society.
“Decent Housing” program represents an important step towards improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable families in Egypt by providing adequate housing and basic services. The initiative contributes to creating an environment conducive to a decent life.
