CAIRO - 12 December 2022: The Egyptian presidential initiative "Haya Karima" has established the principles of decent living standards, through its nation-wide developmental projects that redraws the map of Egypt's countryside.
The initiative has caused a real change and improvement to the lives of millions of citizens through massive development projects aimed at upgrading the economic, social and cultural aspects of the rural people, and ensuring a better future, suitable for the coming generations.
Development dreams have turned into a tangible reality in 42 villages in Giza governorate.
During the work of the first phase of the initiative in Giza Governorate, "Haya Karima" aimed to raise the level of daily services provided to citizens, improve facilities and double the comprehensive treatment services. This was made real by creating a development boom via infrastructure projects including: (sewerage, drinking water, gas, electricity and communications) and service projects including: (education, health, youth centers, service and agricultural complexes, housing restoration, post office, ambulance, police stations) and others.
A total number of 1,136 development projects, extending to all sectors of infrastructure and main services, with investments exceeding 10 billion pounds.
In infrastructure sector, a total of 47 thousand household connections for sewage, and 15 thousand household connections for drinking water that were implemented at a cost of 220 million pounds.
One of the most important projects implemented as part of the first phase is the sewage treatment plant in Barambel in the center and city of Atfih, with a capacity of 15,000 cubic meters, and serves 4 main villages in Giza Governorate, with 150 thousand inhabiting people. Another project is the expansion and development of the school complex in the village of Shobak in the Al-Saf center, which includes 3 schools.
