CAIRO – 8 March 2021: Head of the National Council for Women Maya Morsy on Monday thanked President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his awaited directives to hire women at the Supreme Judicial Council and the State Council.

“It is all thanks to you, Mr. President. Breaking the glass ceiling for the Egyptian women in the Supreme Judicial Council and the State Council. A political will that is always and forever fair for the Egyptian woman,” Morsy said in a Facebook post.

Morsy said it is the “best news” to be received on the International Women’s Day.

Sisi urged Justice Minister Omar Marwan to coordinate with the heads of the Supreme Judicial Council and the State Council to ensure that women are hired in these two bodies, the ministry said in a statement.

The step comes to stress the women’s competence in taking various posts and to maximize the successes in the different fields they work in, the statement read.

The president was also keen to extend congratulations to the Egyptian women earlier this day.

He expressed respect and appreciation for Egyptian women "who diligently carry the conscience of the homeland in a way that corresponds with their eternal historical status."

"It is a constant principle that women are the inexhaustible spring of giving and goodness, and the renewable energy of safety and sacrifice. Women are the primary source of wisdom and principles, and the basis of family building and cohesion," the president added.
