File - Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram traveled to Kuwait to check on the health statues of the Egyptian expat attacked
CAIRO – 6 March 2021: An Egyptian citizen in Saudi Arabia was shot dead and his nephew was injured after a Saudi citizen opened fire on them due to a difference between the two sides according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Immigration on Friday.
Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Nabil Makram voiced her condolences to the family of the victim Ashri Mohamed Hassan and the injured nephew, saying that the ministry is closely following up a probe launched by Saudi authorities on the murder of the Egyptian national, the statement added.
Saudi authorities arrested the culprit who shot dead the Egyptian national, originally from Minya Governorate, the statement said.
The dead body would be brought home once the necessary legal procedures are completed, the statement continued.
