CAIRO -21 February 2020: On Sunday, Libyan media quoted sources that confirmed that Minister of Interior in the Government of National Accord, Fathi Bashagha, survived an assassination attempt in the Janzour district of Tripoli after 27 armored vehicles fired several bullets at the minister's convoy.
Libyan media confirmed that one of the minister's bodyguards chased one of the cars, and two people who participated in the assassination attempt were arrested. Bashaga was not injured and stays in good health," the source said.
This is not the first time that Bashagha assassination attempt has occurred, as the minister was injured in 2019 when his convoy came under fire in Misrata, east of Tripoli, the Karama Operation’s media center said on Facebook.
