Sharm, Hurghada ports reopened after weather improved

CAIRO – 18 February 2021: The Red Sea Ports Authority ordered reopening both Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada ports on Wednesday night as weather conditions improved, the Red Sea Ports Authority announced.

In a statement, the authority said maritime activities and navigation in the two ports have resumed, noting that the authority is following up on weather developments with the Egyptian Meteorological Authority to ensure safe navigation.

Egypt has witnessed cold and unstable weather accompanied with light to moderate rain in some northern areas amid temperature drop.

Also, snowfall was witnessed in the northern Matrouh governorate.

So far, the Suez ports in the north are still closed amid bad weather conditions.
