CAIRO – 3 July 2017: Railways and infrastructure are important fields of cooperation between Egypt and Hungary, the Egyptian presidential spokesperson said ahead of a Monday press conference between President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
"We greatly appreciate Hungary's stance towards Egypt and its support for the will of the Egyptian people," spokesperson Alaa Yousif said in a statement from Budapest, adding that 2018 marks the 90th anniversary of Egyptian-Hungarian relations.
Sisi will also hold a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka on Tuesday.
Sisi will participate in the Visegrad Group summit, scheduled for July 18-19, which includes Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, in recognition of the importance of the gathering.
Egypt is keen on informing its partners in the European Union about the developments in Egypt and the region, according to the statement.
