CAIRO – 4 February 2021: The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed al-Tayyib and Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State, will participate Thursday in a virtual celebration of the International Day of Human Fraternity.
The day marks the anniversary of the signing of the Human Fraternity document in UAE capital, Abu Dhabi in 4 February 2019.
Both Al-Azhar Imam and Vatican Pope expressed their delight about their participation in the virtual event on their official accounts on twitter.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Mahrasawi, President of Al-Azhar University and Chair of the High Committee for Human Fraternity, announced that the Supreme Committee for Human Fraternity is racing against time to transform the principles of human fraternity into realistic projects in fields of education and culture.
He further stressed that the celebration of the Supreme Committee on the anniversary of the signing of the document “is a celebration of sincere efforts in the field of Human fraternity around the world, and encouraging all individuals and institutions to move forward, implement initiatives and projects that serve humanity, and aim to advance the human being, regardless of gender, color or religion.”
