RAMALLAH - 2 July 2017: Israeli occupation forces arrested Sunday two prominent leaders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) in a major raid on several areas in the city of Ramallah, central West Bank.
Israeli forces arrested the member of the Political Bureau of the PFLP and the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) Khalida Jarrar after breaking into her house in the city of Al Bireh, northern Al Quds, according to eyewitnesses.
Also, the Israeli special forces arrested prominent PFLP leader Ihab Masoud from his house in the area between Al Tahta and Al Tira districts in central Ramallah.
Feminist Khetam Al Safen was interrogated by Israeli forces, before she was arrested from her house in the city of Beitunia, near Ramallah, central West Bank, according to a local source.
She was taken to an unknown area by the Israeli forces, who also arrested nine other Palestinian civilians during raids on different parts of the West Bank, the source added.
More than 15 military patrols and armored carriers supported by special forces in civilian vehicles with Israeli and Palestinian registration plates accompanied the military force that stormed the area, witnesses said.
Jarrar is considered a leading figure in the PFLP in the West Bank and has been previously detained for 14 months, before she was released in mid-2016.
