CAIRO – 19 January 2021: The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has praised Egypt’s Green Recovery strategy and welcomed joint cooperation to discover opportunities in Africa.

In a Tuesday video conference, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly told President of EBRD Odile Renaud-Basso that Green Recovery in the implementation of projects is important for Egypt because it is key to sustainable development, adding that Egypt is looking forward to the bank’s support to this strategy.

For her part, Renaud-Basso praised Egypt’s Green Recovery strategy, saying Egypt is an important country for EBRD, evident in the bank’s portfolio of 1 billion euros in Egypt.

Meanwhile, Madbouly applauded the bank’s keenness on discovering opportunities in Africa, highlighting that this is a field of cooperation between EBRD and Egypt. Renaud-Basso welcomed such cooperation as Egypt has a vast experience in executing mega projects in the continent.
