State Information Services (SIS) Chairman Diaa Rashwan during the Press Freedom...Why It Matters session at the World Youth Forum on November 7, 2017- Hussein Tallal
CAIRO, Jan 5 (MENA) – Chairman of the State Information Service (SIS) Diaa Rashwan said Tuesday that Egypt, under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, is leading efforts to restore awareness of the Arab nation in the face of challenges to its national security.
Indeed, “a ray of hope” has emerged showing that Arab awareness is rebounding, Rashwan said in the opening of the seventh edition of the “Arab and Regional Horizons” periodical, which is issued by the SIS.
He touched upon Egypt’s pivotal role in support of Iraq, Libya and other Arab countries. Egypt, he added, is confronting direct challenges to Arab national security through a number of joint military maneuvers with sisterly countries.
Issued ahead of power transition in the US, the new edition includes a study about American sanctions against a number of Arab countries.
It also highlights the legislative aspects of anti-women-abuse policies in the Arab world.
