CAIRO – 3 January 2021: In tandem with a visit by Minister Kamel al-Wazir to the construction sites, the Ministry of Transportation released on Sunday data on the progress rate of the Salam City/10th of Ramadan City Electric Train passing through the New Administrative Capital (NAC).
The railway dubbed LRT extends over 90 kilometers and encompasses 16 stations. Twenty percent of the railroads are finished while constructions are over by 71.5 percent in the first and second phases.
The first phase stretches between Adly Mansour Metro Station in Al Salam City and Administrative Capital Station I including 11 stations. The second phase lies within the New Administrative Capital and ends in Administrative Capital Station II. Those are planned for inauguration in October 2021.
The third phase consists of four stations that are the Administrative Capital Station I; the State Strategic Command Center Station; the Olympic Games City Station; and, the Exchange Station also reached by the High-speed Electric Train to operate between Alamein City on the Mediterranean and Ain Sokhna Station on the Red Sea.
Currently, cadastral surveying and land surveying are underway in order to come up with appropriate designs.
The minister urged officials and contractors to work around the clock and abide by international standards as the project connects together Obour City, Mostaqbal City, Shorouk City, New Heliopolis City, Badr City, the 10th of Ramadan City, and the New Administrative Capital.
