President Sisi, First Lady offer New Year’s wishes

CAIRO – 31 December 2020: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the First Lady, Entissar Amer, issued a New Year’s Eve greeting to the Egyptian people, wishing them further success in “building the future”.

“I greet the Egyptian people and the Arab Nation on the occasion of the new Gregorian year, during which we start a new page of the pages of work, construction and challenge,” President Sisi said on his Facebook page.

“I take this occasion to pray to God Almighty that this year becomes full of goodness, giving and further success and prosperity for every hand putting down a stone to build the future and every eye staying up to protect the nation’s security,” the president added.

Separately, Amer in a Facebook post wished Egyptians further solidarity and coherence.

“We are now folding a year that passed with all its challenges to start together a new year from which we draw hope for more cohesion and solidarity among all Egyptians,” she said.

“At the beginning of this new year, I pray to Allah to protect Egypt and its people from the bad and the evil and to inspire us with further will and awareness to build the future,” she added.
