Arab parliament highlights importance of holding GCC summit in Saudi Arabia

CAIRO - 29 December 2020: Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Al Assoumy has stressed the importance of the convocation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit in Saudi Arabia in January to promote dialogue among GCC states.

In a statement Tuesday, Assoumy expressed his parliament's support for Arab and regional cooperation to boost joint Arab action, voicing hope for the success of the summit to achieve the aspirations of GCC peoples in security, stability and development.

He said the summit is held this time amidst unprecedented challenges imposed by COVID-19, pointing out that Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz pays attention to cooperation and integration among GCC states
