CAIRO – 19 December 2020: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed Egypt’s continuous efforts toward resolving the Palestinian issue, as he met with the Jordanian and Palestinian foreign ministers on Saturday in Cairo.

Sisi said Egypt will continue to exert its efforts aiming at helping the Palestinian people restore their legitimate rights and have their independent state, in accordance with the international legitimacy resolutions.

He highlighted the importance of taking into consideration recent regional and international developments and unifying Arab and international efforts, in an effort to reactivate mechanisms involved in the peace negotiations between the two parties of the conflict and overcome the past challenges.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Palestinian counterpart, Riyad Al-Maliki, during the meeting have expressed appreciation to Egypt’s historic role in backing the Palestinian cause.

They also hailed Egypt’s efforts to maintain stability and help improve the humanitarian and economic conditions in the Gaza Strip, in addition to its efforts in accomplishing the reconciliation process among the Palestinian factions.

Safadi and Maliki earlier on Saturday met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

“Palestinian cause on Egypt’s priorities,” Shoukry said, saying that the three ministers discussed the means of breaking the deadlock in the peace process.
