Canadian parliament desires to benefit from Egypt’s experiment in fighting human trafficking: amb.

CAIRO - 4 December 2020: Egypt’s ambassador to Canada Ahmed Abu Zeid received an invitation from the Canadian parliament to take part in a videoconference meeting to expound the Egyptian experiment in fighting the human trafficking crime.

A parliament’s committee for fighting the new slavery had extended invitations to the ambassadors of several countries, namely Egypt, New Zealand, Nigeria, Ecuador, and Honduras to join an open discussion with the panel, Abu Zeid added.

The move comes as part of the committee’s efforts aimed at outlining a bill for fighting the human trafficking, he added.

The Canadian parliament’s invitation to Egypt mirrors its acknowledgment to the great success, achieved by Egyptian government in fighting the human trafficking crime, Abu Zeid said.

The ambassador said that he expounded the vital role played by the national committee for fighting illegal migration and human trafficking and its coordination with the country’s different bodies to implement the state’s national strategy aimed at eliminating such practices.
