CAIRO – 22 November 2020: Six Arab countries participate in Seif al-Arab (Arabs' Sword) military exercise Nov. 17-26 in Egypt’s Mohamed Naguib military base, according to a Sunday statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Defense.
The six countries are Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain and Sudan.
Mohamed Naguib military base is located in Marsa Matrouh in northwestern Egypt.

Joint military maneuvers with Gulf countries have been recurrent, but military relations between Egypt and Sudan has significantly improved in the past weeks. Egyptian Army’s Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid attended the main phase of the joint training “Nile Eagles 1” conducted by the Egyptian and Sudanese air forces in Sudan’s Marwa air base last week.
Special forces from both countries took part in the exercise. The main phases including a detailed explanation of the combat missions and training activities, which are execute by the forces in the exercise. This assessed the degree of preparedness of the military pilots, officers, technical teams as well as special forces elements.
