Health Ministry recommends to close 76 food facilities

CAIRO - 30 June 2017: A campaign launched by the Ministry of Health has recommended that 76 food facilities should be shut down as they endanger health.

The five-day campaign which covered the North Coast and Marsa Matrouh during Eidul Fitr vacation has also urged disposal of 12.2 tons of foodstuffs as well as 1,846 liters of liquids, since they were unfit for human consumption.

The ministry's spokesman Khaled Megahed said the campaign was launched upon directives from Minister of Health Ahmed Emad el Din to ensure that food facilities meet health requirements.
