CAIRO – 27 October 2020: Deputy Housing Minister for National Projects Khaled Abbas stated in a phone-in Monday that the construction of 49 floors (250 meters) of Africa's tallest tower located in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) and dubbed the Iconic Tower is finished.

Abbas added that 30 other floors are remaining as the height of the tower is planned to be 385 meters.

The tower lies within the business neighborhood and is one of 20 prospective towers in the area. Eight of those – excluding the Iconic Tower - have been constructed.

The deputy minister stated that the finishing and the exterior of the eight towers and the Iconic Tower will be completed by June 30, 2021.

The business neighborhood will not exclusively consist of office buildings but will also house five 47-storey residential buildings. The height of each is 180 meters. It will also have two hotels. One is a 5-star hotel, and the other is a 7-star hotel. The latter will be managed by a brand that will operate for the first time in Egypt.

Units will be offered for sale in the first quarter of 2021, Abbas stated.
