CAIRO – 20 October 2020: Egypt’s Prime Minster Moustafa Madbouli directed with taking all necessary procedures facing the expected unstable weather wave during the coming period.
The Cabinet spokesperson Nader Saad said in statements, Tuesday all cities and governorates expected to face the fluctuations of the weather have raised their state of emergency for the coming days.
Madbouli chaired a meeting earlier Tuesday to follow up reports by the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and the Ministry of Civil Aviation about the unstable weather conditions in Egypt in the coming period.
He issued directives at the meeting for all ministries and governorates to upgrade the level of readiness to confront any emergency in case the country witnesses any bad weather conditions.
Attending the meeting were Minister of Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aaty and other officials concerned.
They reviewed at the meeting maps of expected rains during the days.
Civil Aviation Minister Mohamed Manar instructed the bodies concerned to raise preparedness of airports nationwide in preparation for a severe weather threat expected over the next few days.
During a meeting with Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation Montaser Manna and the heads of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), the minister reviewed the preparations underway to deal with all possible scenarios.
Board chairmen of relevant holding companies and subsidiaries were also present at the meeting, which took up measures taken at Egyptian airports based on the simulation models and training techniques designed to handle emergencies caused by hazardous weather in coordination with the authorities concerned.
