Egyptian defense minister inspects preparations to raise combat efficiency among Third Field Army – Press photo
CAIRO – 19 October 2020: Egyptian Minister of Defense Mohamed Zaki has inspected military preparations and procedures to raise the level of combat efficiency of one of the formations of the Third Field Army, after it has been developed and powerfully armed.
The new preparations aim at enabling the army’s formation to implement their mission of protecting borders on the assigned strategic direction.
The Third Field Army is a field army of the Egyptian Armed Forces, which is headquartered in Suez in northeastern Egypt.
A number of senior commanders of the armed forces accompanied the defense minister.
During his visit, Zaki reviewed the combat competence report of the army’s formation, including the technical and administrative status of the aligned units after their competence in using all weapons has been upgraded and after their capability to carry out military operations under different circumstances has been supported.
The minister discussed with a number of officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers the manner of carrying out their various combat tasks and how to face the emergency situations that they may be exposed to.
Zaki praised the high combat readiness and high morale of the men of the Third Field Army, in addition to their determination to fulfill the tasks and duties assigned to them to protect the homeland.
The armed forces have the latest weapons systems for the main branches and the ground forces, making them among the world's top armies, Zaki said.
The minister called on the men of the armed forces to be vigilant and constantly prepared, to maintain the highest levels of competence and combat readiness.
